The St-Ambroise Fringe Festival and Rail City Media have joined forces to create a film festival the likes of which you have never seen.  For the very first time, Montreal fringe Festival will be hosting a film festival but with a very Fringe-like twist.  All films have to be exactly 2:00 minutes and must be shot on a cell phone.  Those two rules sound fun on their own but here is the kicker.  There is NO JURY! That’s right, there is no jury deciding on what films get to be played!  Instead, there will be a lottery, just like all Fringe shows.  30 films will be chosen by random lottery and then screened at the event!

“I think it’s going to be pretty wild.” Said Adam Reider, The Film Festivals Coordinator. “With no Jury to decided who get’s in, filmmakers can literally just send us a 2 minute close up of their balls and we would have to screen it.”

Rail City Media is no stranger when it comes to film festivals, having created the successful Rail City Roadshow traveling film festival. This festival however will be much more zany and out there.  “I’m really curious to see what types of films make it into the show.”  Said Adam.

Films that don’t make it through via the lottery have another chance to get in.  Films not selected will be uploaded to youtube and the 2 films with the most likes will be added to the event.

The Festival takes place on June 7th at Mainline Theatre.  One night and one night only!
